What is the meaning of love in second life? And i am not talking about the kind of love that involves body parts that are Xcite enabled, but love that is emotional and even spiritual. Some consider SL just a game, others get involved so much and let SL be a part of their RL, especially when it comes to emotions. What makes us fall in and out of love, what makes us love in SL? The moment we can see through the pimped up avatar, that is the moment we make ourselves vulnerable to falling in love.

After almost 3 years in SL, i have met a lot of different people and i have seen -and still see- a lot of romances rise and bloom all the way up on cloud 9 to the point of engagement and even lovely weddings. Sadly i have also seen a lot of romances that fell off cloud 9 and splattered on the ground broken into a thousand hurting pieces. “The love wasnt strong enough” or “i dont want to take this further than being a second life”, “there is someone else i found more interesting”, “i just want to be free in SL” or “i am not ready for relationships, i just love to be a player”. I have seen and heared them all in SL. No, dont worry, not first hand own experiences. Experiences of people around me. I offered my shoulders to cry on so many times and even broadened them in edit appearance when really needed. Now they really have to come up with something good to surprise me when it comes to reasons why they have given up.

We have survived the 2009 season of shopping and eating and now it’s time to make our New Years Resolutions…again! The new year 2010 is peeking through the window waiting for that big welcome with a blast !
